The Republican Party’s final attempt to steal the election has come in the form of a lawsuit against Vice President Mike Pence. But it appears the lawsuit almost didn’t happen due to Microsoft Word and Google docs.
The new filing spearheaded by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) confessed in the legal text that they were nearly thwarted by formatting issues.
“Plaintiffs have employed a team of lawyers to prepare their responsive brief. During the course of preparation, Plaintiffs’ counsel have encountered numerous technical incompatibilities in the software versions between Google Docs and Microsoft Word resulting in editing difficulties and text problems,” the court documents said in the “motion to file responsive brief late.”
The plaintiffs are working to find a judge that will hand a win to President Donald Trump, but it hasn’t worked out so far.
“We continue to hold out hope that there is a federal judge who understands that the fraud that stole this election will mean the end of our republic, and this suit would insure that the Vice-President will only accept electors legitimately and legally elected,” Gohmert said in a statement on Monday. “There must be an opportunity for a day in court when fraud was this prevalent.”

Conservative political analyst Bill Kristol explained that there is a way of being able to tell whether the Republican Party is “salvageable.” It doesn’t seem promising, however
Taking to Twitter New Year’s Day, Kristol explained that there is still time for Republicans to make good on their Oath of Office to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies both foreign and domestic.” It’s just unknown if it will happen.
President Donald Trump announced to his followers that the protest he’s planning for Jan. 6 will take place at 11 a.m. but he doesn’t have a location just yet.

Trump’s biggest challenge may be in getting a permit for such an event. Washington, D.C. experienced an uptick in COVID-19 cases after the Proud Boys rally and reintroduced lockdowns. So, Trump would have to hold his event on federal grounds where he could pressure the National Parks Service.

Trump returned to Washington from Mar-a-Lago early in anticipation of the protest. It meant that he left before his infamous New Year’s Eve Party where wealthy Palm Beach residents can shake hands with the president and his family. While Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle were in attendance, CNN reported that most guests left to join Rudy Giuliani and Vanilla Ice at another event instead.

On CNN Friday, incoming Rep. Carlos Giminez (R-FL) refused to commit to accepting the results of the Electoral College, claiming that he will “sit as a juror” in the proceedings and “listen to the evidence” about whether there were election irregularities.
Conservative strategist Bill Kristol, speaking on CNN a few hours later, was appalled at Giminez’s response.
“He is not a juror,” said Kristol. “We don’t have jurors to judge our votes. We vote. And the votes are counted and the electors vote according to voters in each state. He is not going to see any evidence. It is ludicrous and farcical, that statement, and of course it is a cover for pandering to the president for being loyal to the president, pandering to him, and to many of his voters and supporters who he helped convince there was terrible fraud and this is some way to overcome it.”

”Think about the statement made by an elected official who’s going to swear an oath to the Constitution, who thinks he’s supposed to be a juror? Of what?” said Kristol. “There’ve been 60 court cases. So the judges have decided. They’re supposed to ratify the vote of the people.”
